Sewing & Construction Details
All of our panels are made with the same exceptional high quality and attention to detail that we offer to our local area high-end designers and decorators. With 25+ years in the drapery business, custom workroom craftsmanship, and one-on-one customer relations, we guarantee you’ll be thrilled with our work.
HEMMING
Side Hems
All side hems are double 1.5” and blind stitched.
Bottom Hems
Double 4” in the face material. Blind stitched.
Double 2” for the linings. Blind stitched.
Thread
We match thread color to the best of our ability for every application.
We DO NOT use nylon (clear plastic) thread as it can deteriorate over time and does not provide a true custom appearance.
BLIND STITCHING
The standard for high end drapery, blind stitching provides a nearly invisible stitch. As opposed to straight machine sewing, blind stitching allows for the subtle expansion and contraction of the silks without compromising the overall appearance of the panels. Blind stitching takes more time and skill, but we wouldn’t do it any other way!
WEIGHTED CORNERS
All of our drapery panels have weighted corners which are HAND SEWN into place. Weights are coated to ensure that they will not discolor the material.
